Frequently asked questions about my role at your ceremony
As an ethical celebrant, I do not have solemnising status, so I can only take care of the ceremonial side of your wedding, not the legal side. The HSE is responsible for the legal registration of marriages, and there is a two-stage procedure which involves giving notification of your intention to marry (at least three months in advance), followed by the signing of the legal documents together with a registered solemniser, your partner and two witnesses at a later date. Yes. The beauty of being an ethical celebrant is that I am not bound by any restrictions relating to the expression of any belief system. Whatever is important to you or your family can be incorporated into our ceremony.
Yes. If travelling more than 100km from Dublin, I may request a small additional fee, but will discuss that with you during our consultation.
